The Aquamarine is a member of the “Beryl” family and thus related to the Emerald! It’s name is derived from the Latin words “aqua” – water and “mare” – sea!
The preferred color in the 19 th century was sea-green. Today however, it is a pure, clear blue that is most wanted , a color, that brings out the flawless transparency and brilliant shine of this gemstone.
